Weigh-in day

Mondays are my weekly weigh-in day, so today I ventured down to the meeting hall for my Weight Watchers meeting and weigh-in. I was a little nervous after having a lot of carbs from the pizza yesterday, as well as the unknown amount of sugar in that sweetened tea. So I was certain I was retaining excess water.

I have a tendency to retain lots of water; my feet and ankles swell terribly--so much so that I have decided I could benefit from an additional urethra strategically positioned at the base of my right ankle. My fingers also get a little swollen as well. I haven't been able to wear my wedding ring in several weeks. This is, however, as much to do with my recent high weight as it does with the water retention.

Anyway, I was shocked to find out that I had lost a whopping 2.8 pounds this week! This brings my running total to 13.2 pounds lost since July 13th!

What a relief! Even more than that: bravo for me! Last year, the weight seemed to come off so slowly. I really need this constant feedback from the scale to keep me motivated, so I am pumped for this coming week.
